Abstract

Although Geography as a core subject seems to be continuously losing ground in Hungarian secondary schools, a certain set of schools with Tourism or Economics profile may still enjoy the privilege of having Geography as their designated science subject. This article presents a handful of methods and good practices in the teaching of Geography in Tourism in bilingual vocational secondary education. The curriculum of these schools has a selection of vocational subjects expanding teachers’ opportunities to involve geographical content while relying on the regular use of ICT devices and fulfilling the needs of content and language integrated learning at the same time. The methods described below present new resources and ideas on how to successfully fulfil the needs of both the teaching of Geography and modern language education within the context of domestic and international tourism.
